This twelve week transformation gave me results that I was not
expecting.  Exercise has been a part of my whole life.  I did learn
that only doing three to four days of cardio a week for about fifteen
to twenty minutes gave me the same results as doing one hour of cardio
six days a week.  So now I no longer feel like I´m doing it wrong
because I´m not doing so much of it.  Strength training is something I
have always loved to do.  Now I do three thirty minute sessions per
week rather than forty five minutes to an hour.  I am so glad to have
cut back on the amount of workout time.

Eating tends to be my problem area.  I have been having issues with
becoming obsessive with food and would end up either bingeing or not
eating.  I have come to termsw with this and I no longer obsess, nor
do I beat myself up if I eat cake and ice cream or pizza every so
often.  I also have removed the ¨bad food¨ and ¨good food¨ categories.
 So even though I didn´t lose tons of weight or inches, I have become
stronger and feel good about the choices I make concerning exercise
and eating.   I am enjoying my life.

When I joined the Challenge, my primary goal was to solidify a commitment to healthy exercise and nutrition habits for a larger purpose. As the mom of a 3-year old boy, I want him to grow up with parents who model a healthy lifestyle; hoping that he’ll witness firsthand how to make wise choices for himself. 

My biggest “transformation” over the past 12 weeks is that I now see intentional exercise as a “must have” in my day rather than “if I have the time…if I feel like it…if I’m not too tired…” I’ve also noticed a marked change in my strength and endurance. I can now do push-ups on my toes rather than my knees (something I was never able to do 15 years ago at the age of 25)!

I’m probably most excited about the changes that aren’t visible. A little over a year ago my triglycerides were over 200 (less than 150 is considered normal). During this challenge I had it re-tested and now they are 113!

Overall, the Challenge showed me that I’m capable of so much more than I think. I’m grateful to Angie and all of the other participants for their encouragement and support!

In 15 days I will be 53 years old. This has not only been a challenge but a life change and an eye opener.

I had spent what seemed like a life time as a overweight person, from a chubby kid to a fat teenager on to an overweight adult. I can't remember what I wanted to be when I grew up other than to be thin.

Before the challenge I was going along at a slow steady pace, seeing some results, but now “wow”.

I have learned what to eat, the proper way to eat and how to maximize my food to use as necessary fuel.

I came into this challenge with goals of losing inches, toning and tightening. I have exceeded the lost inches from my thighs and hips. For me, the after is the realization that this is not a quick fix challenge. This is a life long healthy fit lifestyle change.

Not only have I changed the outside of me, but I have changed the inside as well. I know that I can do anything I set my mind to. I have confidence in myself, because I am presenting the best possible me to the world.
